For Liwa Plastics - a separate division of oil company Orpic in Oman - Brand Control Rooms has set up a large part of the new control room, with a surface area of 990 m2, on a turnkey basis. The project was realised by us. We transformed an empty space into a complete furnished control room, on the basis of an extensive ergonomic analysis.
Orpic is successful in trading oil, which is processed into all kinds of end products, such as grains for the automotive industry. Liwa Plastics has built a completely new plant for this process. This increase in capacity also required a new future orientated control room. Liwa Plastics has made a start on the layout of the room, which has been tested by us with various checks on the base of the ISO standard and has been fine-tuned on the basis of ergonomic research.
On behalf of a local contractor, a start was made with the building of the control room. The room has a flexible ceramic computer floor and an acoustic, metal ceiling with integrated lighting and decorative cloud ceiling. A corridor was created of glass walls with PRIVA-LITE, which can be converted from transparent to matte, if more privacy is required.
Commissioned by Schneider Electric, the finished room has been furnished with all the necessary 24/7 furniture and audio visual solutions. Ranging from two large video walls (each consisting of 25 pieces of 55 inch latest generation of large screens), including control, to 84 inch height-adjustable overview monitors. The control desks are made-to-measure, for which our Focus Desk III has been taken as a starting point. This modular model can be flexibly arranged and provides a larger workplace where several operators can work on at the same time. They are free to adjust individually their own workspace to an ergonomic working height. Especially for Liwa Plastics, we have produced ESD cabinets with mosaic panels, which have been combined with the Focus Desk III.
The complete assignment has been realized by us from sketch onwards. We directly involved the customer in the first drawing rounds and engineering, from which the production started. All the necessary products and materials were developed in-house in our production area. We also arranged the special packing of the products and the shipping to Oman. Everything was installed on-site to our satisfaction under the supervision of our engineers, in cooperation with local parties.
